iPhone 13 Pro Smartphone Review: Price Evaluation. Pros and Cons.
Apple is back with another iPhone release, and this time they are shaking things up with the iPhone 13 Pro. This premium smartphone comes with a hefty price tag, but there are many features that justify the cost. In this review, we will take a closer look at the pros and cons of the iPhone 13 Pro and help you decide if it is the right phone for you.
PROS
- Excellent camera system
- Great Display Quality with a 120-hertz refresh rate
- ProRAW format gives you more control over your photos
- Long Battery Life
CONS
- Pricey, compared to non-pro iPhones
- The price tag is very high at KWD 328. Not many people are willing to spend that much money on a phone. There are other options available for cheaper prices.
1. WHAT’S INSIDE THE BOX
- The Phone itself.
- Pretty long USB C to Lightning Cable.
- User Manual and paper works + Apple Sticker
Now from iPhone 12 series, Apple has cut off the headphone and power bricks in the name of saving the environment. But for me, it’s a marketing strategy to cut more costs and make more profit.
The box is thin compared to the 2019 iPhone boxes.
There’s really nothing to talk about as there is only a cable and manuals inside the box. That’s what you get by paying a premium.
2. DESIGN
- Phone Weigh at 203g
- The phone’s dimensions are 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.65 mm
- It is IP68 water and dust resistant
- Lighting Port for charging
- Ceramic glass protection
One of the first things you will notice about the iPhone 13 Pro is its sleek new design. The phone is available in three different colors – black, white, and gold – and features a textured matte finish that makes it easy to grip.
The camera bump has also been redesigned to be more flush with the rest of the phone, giving better look and it doesn’t wobble on the table.
The phone weight is well balanced as all other iPhones and it feels comfortable to hold in hands.
This iPhone is a smaller brother of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. So the body size is smaller compared to iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Of course, you get an IP68 rating for the latest and greatest iPhone lineup.
Unfortunately this year also we did not get a USB-C charging port. Guess we need to wait longer for that for the iPhone.
Ceramic glass protection was first introduced in iPhone 12 series and it protects the front and rear of the phone very well. This year it is better than last year, so you don’t have to worry if you drop it a few times.
3. DISPLAY
- The size of the display is a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.
- The pixel density is around 460ppi (1170 x 2532 pixels)
- The screen ratio is 19.5:9 (~86.0% screen-to-body ratio)
Another great feature of the iPhone 13 Pro is its new OLED display. This display is not only brighter and more vibrant than previous iPhone displays, but it also features a higher refresh rate, meaning that scrolling through your feed will be smoother than ever before.
The 6.1inch Super Retina XDR OLED display comes with a 120Hz refresh rate finally. Fans have requested this feature from the iPhone 11 series and we finally got it. This refresh rate is adaptive on display also called LTPO display. So when it is required only then it will give you higher refresh rates and thus it saves a lot of battery life.
Pixel density is around 460ppi which is great and color pops out from the display which is very pleasant to see. The color accuracy of this phone is on to the point. It’s a great display and I love it!
4. PERFORMANCE
- This Phone comes with an A15 Bionic chip inside it.
- Talking about the core: 2Nos of 3.22 GHz Avalanche and 4Nos of X.X GHz Blizzard at 5nm process
- 6GB of RAM
- The storage available options are: 128,256, 512GB and 1TB
Performance-wise, the iPhone 13 Pro is one of the best smartphones on the market. With its A15 Bionic chip and updated operating system, this phone is sure to handle whatever you throw at it. Whether you’re a gamer, a movie buff, or just need a powerful device for everyday use, the iPhone 13 Pro will not disappoint.
Performance is one the best in the market right now. But all the iPhone 13 series phones don’t have the same performance, instead, they have the same A15 Bionic. The lower-end models of iPhone 13 series phones have decreased in performance a little. But that you and I can not notice in the real world test it’s just numbers.
The 6GB of RAM is more than enough for iPhone 13 Pro to handle any task you through at it.
There are great storage options available this year for iPhone 13 series. Pick one which suits your lifestyle. Of course, more storage means more money.
5. BATTERY LIFE
- It has a 3095mAh capacity battery.
- Fast charging up to 23W
- MagSafe Wireless charging
Battery life is also impressive, with the iPhone 13 Pro lasting up to five hours longer than the iPhone 12 Pro. This is thanks to the new LTPO display and more efficient processors.
Fast Charging for iPhone 13 series is at 23W. But you have to buy a compatible charging brick to actually charge at 23W as it doesn’t come with it.
MagSafe charging was introduced in iPhone 12 series in 2020 and it is the same in iPhone 13 series. It looks like it won’t go away any time soon. It is a good thing. You can buy MagSafe accessories and you can use it generation after generation of the phone.
6. CAMERA
- Wide camera lens: 12MP, f/1.5, 26mm, OIS
- Telephoto camera lens: 12MP, f/2.8, 77mm, OIS, 2x optical zoom
- Ultra-wide camera lens: 12MP, f/1.8, 13mm
- Depth detection lens: TOF 3D LiDAR scanner
When it comes to the camera, the iPhone 13 Pro does not disappoint. The triple camera setup includes a wide-angle, ultra-wide angle, and telephoto lens, giving you the ability to capture just about any type of photo or video. The new ProRAW format also gives you more control over your photos, allowing you to edit them more extensively in post-processing.
The ProRAW feature is enabled only in 265GB variants or higher. As proRAW video shooting takes a lot of space it makes sense.
The photos are absolutely best when captured from iPhone 13 Pro.
In well-lit condition, it takes amazing photos. Photos look sharp, colors pop, and the contrast ratio is perfect.
In low light also takes amazing photos thanks to the upgraded TOF 3D LiDAR scanner. With help of this, you can adjust the focus even after you take a picture or video. As it keeps the data to process later when you needed.
7. AUDIO
- 3.5mm headphone jack is not present.
- An adapter is also not included
The 3.5mm headphone jack has now disappeared from high-end smartphones. We know why. They want to sell wireless headphones.
However, you can still listen to the headphones at the lighting port. iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series do not come with headphones and power supply brick.
If you also have good wired 3.5mm headphones, you can use them with adapters which are also not included in the box. The quality of the phone’s speakers is very good and without any problems.
8. SOFTWARE
iPhone 13 Pro ships with iOS 15 and can be upgradable to iOS 15.3.1. In terms of operating system support, Apple has some very good information. It is good because it can support the phone for 5-7 years.
Even the iPhone 6s which is 7 years old phone is still supported and updated to the iOS 15 latest version.
Most Android smartphones support operating system support for up to 3 years. iPhones, on the other hand, support their phones for a very long time, so if you buy now in 2022, you’ll get to use the iPhone 13 Pro in at least 5 years.
So, in terms of software compatibility, iOS is currently the best.
9. VALUE
the biggest downside of the iPhone 13 Pro is its price tag. At, KWD 328, it’s one of the most expensive iPhones on the market. If you’re not looking to spend that much money, there are a number of less expensive options available.
10. FINAL VERDICT
Overall, the iPhone 13 Pro is a great phone with some amazing features. However, its high price tag will likely deter many potential buyers. If you can afford it you should definitely go for it without a doubt. It’s a green signal from me.
